Addressing the offensive line depth, the Buffalo Bills selected Georgia C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger with the 141st pick overall on Saturday. The two-time national champion comes to the Bills with extensive experience at center and has been incredibly durable throughout his career.
Read below for Sedrick Van Pran-Granger’s publicly reported injury history and analysis.
Injury History
2023 Georgia
Left knee injury, vs Kentucky, missed the first half.
Van Pran-Granger suffered a knee injury that broadcast cameras caught him pointing to the left knee while being evaluated. He was able to return in the second half and finish the game.
Injury Analysis
According to Dane Brugler, Van Pran-Granger played 2,746 snaps at center over his four-year career at Georgia. That equates to 44 consecutive starts. And he only missed a handful of snaps due to a knee injury in his final season? That’s incredibly impressive.
The only knock against Van Pran-Granger is the lack of versatility to play guard, but if he wants a roster spot in the NFL, he’d better be willing to learn. Considering he played in the SEC and didn’t miss time suggests that he shows solid field awareness at center. If he were to move to guard, there could be an increased risk of injury to him or others due to the unfamiliarity of the position, but shouldn’t preclude him from trying.
Final Thoughts
I have zero concerns for Van Pran-Granger moving forward based on the current information available. Should he switch positions to stick on the roster, he could be at risk for injury, but he needs to learn. Hopefully, his injury luck continues as he begins his NFL career.
I wish Sedrick Van Pran-Georger the best of luck and to remain healthy.
