Week 6 of the AFC East kicks off with lots of changes in the division as each team jockeys to reach the top of the division. The Miami Dolphins are on bye, the New England Patriots host the Houston Texans, and the New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.
Read below for all the injury updates heading into Week 6.
New England Patriots
OUT
RB Rhamondre Stevenson (Foot)
Stevenson was unable to practice all week due to a foot injury sustained on Sunday against the Dolphins. While Mike Reiss Of ESPN highlighted Stevenson getting hit in the calf, he is on the injury report with a foot injury. He did leave and returned late in the fourth before exiting again. It’s hard to discern the exact injury on film with the angles provided. Either way, he is out and Antonio Gibson will see the increased workload.
QUESTIONABLE
S Kyle Dugger (Right Ankle)
As noted above, Dugger missed last week’s game with a right ankle injury. He appeared to roll his ankle while stepping on someone’s foot. He was unable to practice on Wednesday.
WR Kendrick Bourne (Right ACL)
Bourne continues to ramp back up after making his season debut last week appearing in 16 snaps. He caught one pass for six yards and appears to be in line to increase his workload for Week 6.
C Nick Leverett (Ankle)
Leverett has been on the injury report now for the last two weeks with an ankle injury. This may be more of a maintenance issue as he played the remainder of the game in Week 4 for David Andrews and 100 percent of snaps in Week 5.
WR KJ Osborn (Shoulder)
Osborn missed Week 5 with a shoulder injury after being unable to practice all week. He returned to practice this week as a limited participant but is questionable.
G Layden Robinson (Ankle/Wrist)
Robinson has been on the injury report since last week with ankle and wrist injuries. He has been limited to only special teams work and has appeared in three plays. Before this, he had played in 100 percent of offensive snaps, likely as a fill-in for the various injuries on the offensive line.
LB Sione Takitaki (Knee)
Takitaki is still within his 21-day window to return from the PUP list after undergoing a knee scope just before training camp. He will need to be activated to the roster in order to play this week.
CB Marco Wilson (Groin)
Wilson is a new addition to the injury report this week with a groin injury. He appeared in 35 percent of snaps last week and several more on special teams but there is no additional information at this time.
LB Anfernee Jennings (Shoulder)
Jennings has been working back from a shoulder injury originally sustained in Week 3, causing him to miss Week 4 before returning to play in a season-high 69 percent of defensive snaps. Despite practicing in full all week, he is still questionable. I would expect he plays.
CB Isaiah Bolden (Hamstring)
Bolden appeared on the injury report on Thursday due to a hamstring injury likely picked up in practice. He was limited Friday as well and remains questionable. Given his position and acuity of the injury, I don’t expect he plays
LS Joe Cardona (Calf)
Cardona appeared to injure his calf at practice on Friday, leaving him questionable heading into Sunday’s game. While his calf would not stop him from snapping during field goals and extra points, not having a reliable player on the field during punts could be the difference between a big gain or stopping the opponent in their own territory.
The Patriots signed Tucker Addington to the practice squad and will likely elevate him for Sunday. He has had multiple stints with the team and should slide in nicely.
ACTIVE
DT Davon Godchaux (Elbow)
Godchaux is a new addition to the injury report with an elbow designation after appearing in 68 percent of snaps last week, the second highest of this season. Fortunately, he has no designation.
CB Jonathan Jones (Shoulder)
Jones has been working through a shoulder injury that originally put him on the report ahead of Week 4. He was limited in his snap count for Week 4 that week with 38 percent of snaps before rebounding back to a closer average of 67 percent of snaps. He was able to practice in full all week.
OT Vederian Lowe (Right Knee)
Lowe has been battling a right knee injury dating back to Week 2, appearing to be an MCL sprain. He had missed Week 3 and 4 before returning in Week 5, playing in 100 percent of snaps. He was limited all week but appears on track to play in Week 6.
