The NFL regular season is concluding this week with a slate of AFC East divisional games. The New York Jets host the Miami Dolphins and with a win could help propel the Dolphins to the playoffs. The other game has the New England Patriots hosting the Buffalo Bills and with a loss has the Patriots in line to get the number one pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Read below for the full injury analysis around the division.
Miami Dolphins
OUT
LB Anthony Walker Jr. (Knee)
Walker missed last week’s game after being unable to practice and was ruled out prior to the game.
DOUBTFUL
QB Tua Tagovailoa (Right Hip)
Tagovailoa missed last week’s game after being downgraded to doubtful. He originally suffered his injury against the Houston Texans in Week 15. By video, it appears that this is a hip pointer injury. Why this injury is holding him out as long as it is, that isn’t clear. This could affect his mobility and ability to protect himself which is why the team may be holding him out in case they make the playoffs.
QUESTIONABLE
OT Terron Armstead (Knee)
Armstead is trying to finish the season with a knee injury that dates back to Week 8 and was only able to play in 45 percent of snaps last week.
WR Tyreek Hill (Wrist)
Hill is still battling torn ligaments in his wrist from earlier this season and potentially from the preseason. He will likely require surgery once the season ends.
WR Jaylen Waddle (Right Knee)
Waddle is still working back from his right knee MCL sprain dating back to Week 15 against the Houston Texans. He has missed the last two games.
WR Dee Eskridge (Finger)
Eskridge was added to the injury report Friday with a finger injury and is questionable.
DE Calais Campbell (Neck)
Campbell was a late addition to the injury report with a neck injury on Friday and is questionable. I expect him to make every effort to play.
S Jevon Holland (Wrist)
Holland is new to the injury report this week dealing with a wrist injury. This may be the same wrist that he suffered a break in his hand earlier this season which forced him to miss some time.
ACTIVE
S Jordan Poyer (Knee / Finger)
Poyer is still working through knee and finger injuries that he suffered back in Week 16. He appeared in his usual complement of snaps on defense.
P Jake Bailey (Back)
This week, Bailey is a new addition to the injury report with a back designation. This is notable as he was on the injury report for a significant portion of the season in 2022 with a back injury that resulted in a stint on injured reserve. It’s unclear if this is the same issue, but it’s worth noting.
LB Duke Riley (Foot)
Riley is a new addition to the injury report this week with a foot injury. He played in 83 percent of special teams snaps and 10 percent on defense.
New York Jets
OUT
CB Sauce Gardner (Hamstring)
Gardner has been dealing with his hamstring injury originally suffered back in Week 13. This caused him to miss the following game in Week 14. He was able to return in Week 15 playing in 100 percent of snaps but only played in 44 percent of the snaps in Week 16 suggesting he aggravated the area. Despite not being able to practice prior to Week 17, he played but tweaked the hamstring once again and was forced to exit the game.
He was unable to practice all week and has been ruled out.
QUESTIONABLE
TE Tyler Conklin (Calf)
Conklin is a new addition to the injury report this week with a calf injury and was unable to practice all week. This comes after he caught his third touchdown of the season last week. He is questionable and may be able to suit up.
OL Morgan Moses (Left Knee)
Moses has been dealing with a left knee injury all season that involves an MCL sprain, fracture, and meniscus tear. He suffered a re-injury to the area on Sunday and was forced to briefly leave the game but did return. He was unable to practice and I do not expect him to play.
OL Alijah Vera-Tucker (Ankle)
AVT has battled a high-ankle sprain dating back to Week 7 but has played through the injury after initially missing two games. I expect him to play.
DL Quinnen Williams (Hamstring)
Williams returned to play last week after missing Week 16 with a hamstring injury. He was not as effective as he normally is and played in a season-low 43 percent of defensive snaps. He was unable to practice all week and will likely not play.
ACTIVE
OL John Simpson (Groin)
Simpson is now dealing with a groin injury after working through a calf injury last week but suited up.
WR Malachi Corley (Elbow)
Corley was forced to leave Sunday’s game with an elbow injury and did not return. He was able to practice in full on Wednesday and was removed from the injury report on Thursday.
DL Haason Reddick (Neck)
Reddick continues to work through his neck injury originally sustained back in Week 16. He has played in his normal complement of snaps and was removed from the injury report on Thursday.
LB Chazz Surratt (Ankle)
Surratt was able to practice in full all week with an ankle injury he picked up against Buffalo.
INJURED RESERVE
DL Leki Fotu (Knee)
Fotu is still on injured reserve dealing with his knee injury dating back to Week 8. He would need to be activated to play despite being designated as doubtful.
