In response to Dawson Knox being placed on NFI ahead of training camp, the Buffalo Bills signed TE Matt Sokol on Tuesday. Sokol has been all around the NFL, and the Bills are just his latest stop on a way to continue his dream.
While Sokol has been all over the NFL, he has not seen much playing time in his career. Read more below regarding Sokol’s NFL stops, publicly reported injury history, and analysis.

Sokol’s senior season ended early when he suffered a spiral fracture of his fibula and dislocated ankle in October of 2013. He underwent surgery to repair the damage and was cleared for activity by December of that year to be an early enrollee with Michigan State in their 2014 class.

Buffalo Bills Injury Analysis
Sokol has been on five different NFL teams, appearing in eight career games since 2019. Due to the limited playing time, he has not had many opportunities to get injured. The only injury that Sokol had suffered was his fibula fracture and dislocated ankle in high school, from which he fully recovered.

There aren’t any injury concerns from the available information, but Sokol is a fringe player who is good enough to be on an NFL roster, but not consistently make an active roster. Considering his extensive stops and lack of injury history, his talent will likely be what holds him back.
I would like to welcome Matt Sokol to Buffalo and that he remains healthy this season.
