Buffalo Bills Preseason Injury Review: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Buffalo Bills Preseason Injury Review: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buffalo Bills rebounded with a strong outing on Saturday, winning 23-19 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With the win, the Bills moved to 1-2 in the preseason, not that the record matters. This ends the preseason and difficult decisions must be made for Tuesday.

Read below for a full injury breakdown from Saturday’s win along with observations and updates.

In-Game Injuries

DE Javon Solomon (Left Arm)

Solomon was forced to leave the game briefly with 12:50 left in the first quarter when he likely hit his elbow during a pass rush and came out of the skirmish hitting the elbow.

He was later able to return to the game without incident.

CB Dane Jackson (Stinger)

Jackson briefly required attention from athletic trainers after suffering an injury with 7:35 left in the third quarter. You can see Jackson go to tackle and get a knee to the helmet and come up, shaking out his right hand.

After a brief assessment, Jackson was able to come back in the game.

Other Observations

CB Tre’Davious White (Lower Leg)

Brandon Beane gave somewhat of an update for White, stating that this is a lower leg issue and that they don’t have a timetable yet.

Even waiting on MRI results, they know what they say, they knew this at the latest Friday morning. What they’re doing is looking at what the best path moving forward may be and consulting with the training staff. It would not surprise me if they were consulting with a specialist to determine if surgery is needed or if this is something that can be played through.

There are simply too many possibilities regarding the injury. We need at least a body part which can narrow it down significantly.

WR Curtis Samuel/P Brad Robbins (Illness)

Both were dealing with illness with Samuel not making the trip while Robbins only held and let TE Zach Davidson take over pointing duties.

Final Thoughts

The Bills move onto the regular season and hopefully can get healthier over the next two weeks before Week 1. It was a brutal preseason injury wise but the team managed to avoid any season ending injuries.

They managed to avoid any season ending injuries this year but the volume of injuries is more concerning from a short term perspective.

Make sure to stay tuned for the latest updates including Tre’Davious White and cut down news.
