Looking for value up high and down low, the Buffalo Bills signed WR Trent Sherfield to a one-year contract on Monday shortly before lunchtime. They are certainly looking to add players who not only can contribute on offense, but add value on special teams, a common theme in Buffalo.
Sherfield comes to the Bills after stops with the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Miami Dolphins. Having played in 78 games over five seasons after entering as a UDFA out of Vanderbilt is quite impressive.
But what’s more impressive is the durability of the wideout. While no player is immune from injury, Sherfield appears to be pretty close, having only missed 1 game due to injury or illness. Below is Trent Sherfield’s publicly reported injury history & thoughts below.

Buffalo Bills Injury Outlook
I don’t think you’re going to find a player in the league with a cleaner injury history than Sherfield, especially playing wide receiver and special teams.
The above injuries are part of the game and considering he’s only missed 1 game due to illness is promising. This won’t stop him from suffering any injuries in the future, but I have little concern about his availability if he is dinged up. None of the injuries listed above appear worrisome or could become a problem this season.
Considering he is on a one-year deal and he has versatility in both the passing game and special teams, this is a signing that could pay out big for the Bills. They don’t lose much if he does somehow get injured, but chances are, he won’t miss much time. Hopefully, the Bills can capitalize on his health and offensive production from last season as the 2023 season approaches.
