Needing to add depth at center before the final preseason game, the Buffalo Bills signed C Sincere Haynesworth on Wednesday and waived WR Mac Dalena.

Haynesworth comes to Buffalo after several NFL and UFL stops as he looks for another opportunity to stick with a team this fall. Read below for a full injury history and analysis.

He would later join the New England Patriots practice squad and the Saints several more times that season.

Buffalo Bills Injury Analysis

This is a pretty unremarkable injury history with only a sprained MCL to his knee back in 2024. This is one of the most common injuries and he has shown to be fully healthy by passing multiple physicals and playing in 2026 in the UFL.

Injury wise, there are no concerns for him moving forward. He is basically a fresh body to play on Thursday if needed.

With Connor McGovern as the starter and dealing with his right hamstring injury currently out, the Bills do not want to risk playing Lloyd Cushenberry. The team likely does not want to have starting guard Alec Anderson take snaps at center or give heavy snaps to backup Austin Corbett. On top of that, Sedrick Van Pran Granger has been out with an undisclosed injury since August 24. This leaves Bruno Fina as another possibility per his Dad, John Fina, noted on Saturday’s preseason broadcast or another player converting from guard to center for the game.

Haynesworth may just be around for the game and then be part of cuts come Sunday. There’s a possibility that he is a practice squad candidate, but considering he is entering so late, this seems unlikely.

Despite the circumstances, I’d like to welcome Sincere Haynesworth to Buffalo and to remain healthy.
