Looking for help in the return game, the Buffalo Bills sent a 2026 sixth-round draft pick to the New York Jets in exchange for CB Brandon Codrington and a 2026 seventh-round pick just ahead of when final roster cuts were due on Tuesday.
Codrington comes from the New York Jets after signing as a UDFA out of North Carolina Central where he was an FCS All-American and multiple MEAC selections at several different positions. Despite his UDFA status, Codrington showed enough talent for the Jets to move a player and receive something in return for someone they may have been forced to cut.

Codrington’s injury came in the first preseason game against the Washington Commanders with 52 seconds left in the third quarter. Trainers did tend to him briefly but he could leave the field under his own power.
Injury Analysis
Unfortunately, there isn’t much injury info that could be found on Codrington. This often happens at the smaller FCS and Division II schools where coverage simply isn’t as extensive. If the school SID does not mention it in the bio, then it becomes incredibly difficult to find.
Missing only three games over five years and what looks to be a minor injury in the preseason looks great for Codrington. Considering the Bills traded for him indicates that he at least has what it takes to hold down the fort until they can find another player to get the job done. Whether this is Daequan Hardy or KJ Hamler should they be signed to the practice squad or someone else, the Bills are leaving no stone unturned.
I wish Brandon Codrington the best of luck this season and to remain healthy.
