AFC East Injury Preview: Week 2

Week 1 of the AFC East fared pretty well for most of the division with the Bills, Patriots, and Dolphins while the Jets ended up losing to the 49ers on Monday Night.

Week 2 kicked off early with a Thursday Night matchup between the Bills and Dolphins with the Bills making the win look easy. The Patriots host the Seahawks and the Jets go to play the Tennessee Titans.

New York Jets

QUESTIONABLE

CB DJ Reed (Knee)

Dealing with knee soreness during the week, he was downgraded to did not participate which likely means he will not play come Sunday.

DL Michael Clemons (Triceps)

Clemons was listed as questionable after being limited Wednesday and Friday with a triceps injury. He will likely have difficulty shedding offensive linemen and working for inside control at the line.

ACTIVE

RB Michael Carter II (Right Ankle)

Carter is once again dealing with an ankle injury after missing most of training camp dating back to August 3. It’s not clear if this is the same ankle but there is a high likelihood that it is. Fortunately, he does not have a designation heading into the game but may be limited at times or be forced to exit if he injures the area again.

S Ashtyn Davis (Ankle)/WR Mike Williams (Knee)

Both have no designations heading into the game.

New England Patriots

OUT

G Sidy Sow (Ankle) OUT

Sow will miss his second straight game after suffering an ankle injury in the third preseason game. Outside of him stating that he thought he tore his Achilles at the time, we don’t have a lot of information regarding the injury. Given the timeframe so far, there is a higher likelihood that he is working back from a high-ankle sprain.

QUESTIONABLE

DE Deatrich Wise (Shoulder)

After appearing on the injury report last week due to a hamstring injury, Wise picked up a shoulder injury and is officially questionable. There do not appear to be any additional details regarding the specifics at this time.

S Kyle Dugger (Ankle)/RB JaMycal Hasty (Knee)/G Layden Robinson (Shoulder)

All three popped up on Thursday’s injury report with their respective injuries and are officially questionable. Both Hasty and Robinson feel good enough to play, especially with Robinson getting his full workload in practice.

ACTIVE

G Vederian Lowe (Abdomen)

Lowe is set to return after suffering an abdomen/oblique injury back on August 21 and missing Week 1.

RB Antonio Gibson (Hip)

LB Anfernee Jennings (Wrist/Knee)

S Jabrill Peppers (Hip)

LB Josh Uche (Foot)

Miami Dolphins/Buffalo Bills

The Bills and Dolphins played on Thursday night with Bills winning 31-10. You can read the injury preview and review linked below.
