Looking to add some versatile depth, the Buffalo Bills signed DE Morgan Fox to the practice squad on Wednesday. Fox comes to Buffalo after stops in Los Angeles with both the Rams and Chargers, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Falcons.
Fox has played all over the defensive line making him versatile enough for the Bills to use him as depth anywhere, but also utilize him as a poor man’s Michael Hoecht. The Bills had a plan with Hoecht and with his injury, they don’t want to abandon the idea altogether, but they have to retool in order to make up for Hoecht’s loss.

Buffalo Bills Injury Analysis
For as much football as Fox has played, I was surprised to see so few injuries. The only notable concern is the ACL which happened back in 2018c an unfortunate happenstance of any football player.
He hasn’t been on the injury report for any knee related issues since then indicating this was an isolated incident. His oblique injury as well wasn’t a lingering issue either. It did cause him to reduce his workload but did not limit his production during that timeframe.
Looking at possible concerns, there aren’t any. The biggest issue I see is that he hasn’t played football since August and this was his first workout for a team since then.
He has been staying in shape ready for the next opportunity, but I expect there to be a ramp up period which is why he is starting on the practice squad. Hopefully he is not needed immediately as injuries continue to occur, but he may be called upon if we see anymore guys go down. The biggest concern I have is acclimation injuries from not playing in several months, but he also doesn’t have the wear and tear on him of the first half of the season.
I’d like to welcome Morgan Fox to Buffalo and to remain healthy for the remainder of the season.
