Injury Analysis: Buffalo Bills CB Toriano Pride Jr.

Never satisfied with cornerback depth, the Buffalo Bills selected Missouri CB Toriano Pride Jr. in the seventh round of the NFL Draft.

Pride comes to Buffalo after having spent his first two years at Clemson before transferring to Missouri for his last two seasons. During his career, he played in 52 games with 21 starts securing 82 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 21 pass deflections, and 5 interceptions.

In addition to the production on the field, Pride also brings some wheels with him, clocking a 4.32 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine, second fastest among all defensive players. He has also demonstrated durability during his collegiate career.

Buffalo Bills Injury Analysis

Toriano Pride Jr. did not have any reported injuries during his time at Clemson or Missouri that I could find. Besides wearing arm sleeves and turf tape, there aren’t any injuries that he appeared to work through that required any bracing. I couldn’t find any reports that he required any medical attention either. His injury history is very similar to the Bills second round pick this year, CB Davison Igbinosun

After watching the cornerback depth be decimated at the end of the year, the Bills put a lot of resources into the position this year. Brandon Beane also stated that the outside corner was one of the biggest needs on the team which is why they doubled down this year.

Pride won’t avoid injury, but his prior durability and availability will help him work through any issues that crop up. He’s not a sure fire bet to make the roster as a seventh round pick, but the opportunity is there to make an impact if he gets some early runs in training camp or lands on the practice squad.

I’d like to welcome Toriano Pride Jr. to Buffalo and to remain healthy this season.
